“It’s really not that hard to make a change, just one day at a time.”

Betty’s words…

I am 56 years old, the mother of 3 adult daughters and the proud “NeNe” to 11 marvelous grandchildren. I have worked as a hairdresser for 39 years and have owned a salon for 31 years. My days are jam packed with work, bookwork, house work, yard work and family.

I have struggled with my weight beginning with my first pregnancy and never ever lost those extra pounds.

Of course, over the years I’ve tried different things, some worked, but then I’d quit. And the weight would eventually go even higher and the evil blood sugar would start creeping up. That got my attention, but not right away. It took a while for me to realize that I really had to do something other than just think about it.

So my “before self” had trouble going to bed at night (because I was hooked on TV and munching while I watched) and even more trouble getting up each morning (never having time for breakfast). I spent most of my day trying to “catch up” while multi-tasking at my business for the usual 10 hour day.

Each day I told myself that tomorrow I would do better. But that day never really came. Oh, I tried other things, but nothing else clicked for me until a friend talked to me about Boot Camp. I waited until the last minute to sign up for Boot Camp in January and I was a nervous wreck on that first morning.

But, I came back the next day because Cliff gives awards at the end of each camp. I wanted a consistency award because I knew that was the only award I could earn. Now I earned that award for four consecutive camps.

Now my “new self” wakes at 4:45 a.m. and heads to Camp. I come home and eat breakfast because I am starving. I now get chores and errands done before I get to work. Oh, and now I get to work early!

The day goes by much smoother now. I eat most of my calories before 2:00 P.M.  And I go to bed much earlier, about 8:30 P.M. No more mindless eating in front of the TV. I’ve lost 30 lbs. and lots of inches. And my blood sugar is in the normal range!

I have 11 reasons to continue with Boot Camp… my grandchildren. I love my daughters but I really, really, really love their children!! Those kids are so active and busy and I want to be able to keep up with them.

And one day when I’m gone, I want them to remember me with a big smile and lots of memories.

It’s really not that hard to make a change, just one day at a time.

The real secret why Boot Camp works is Cliff and his staff. I think Cliff is just what a coach should be. How many men do you know that can deal with 65 women first thing in the morning?  He’s always smiling, knows your name, always encouraging and somehow makes you want to do all those crazy exercises he dreams up. Boot Camp is not just another thing to add to an already busy day, it’s the ONE thing to start the day with.

My very busy life is much more organized, much less stressful, and so much more productive. And I’m happier.

If I can do this, anyone can.  Come join us!
